HOTEL AMERICANO: AN URBAN & TRENDY ADDRESS IN MANHATTAN

07.14.15

Let’s continue our city tour of Manhattan’s hotels 🙂 After the Baccarat Hotel and the New York Edition, we are heading to the heart of Chelsea’s art gallery district with the Hotel Americano.

Why did I pick this one? Because of its design, story, location and atmosphere. Carlos Couturier and Moises Micha, two mexican entrepreneurs, entrusted an award-winning architect Enrique Norten with their garage. Yes, before its new life, the Hotel Americano was a former Chelsea garage! Its industrial facade reflects its urban location and hides 56 rooms, two restaurants, one lobby coffee shop, two basement bars and the icing on the cake, an outdoor rooftop pool which becomes a hot tub in winter. Don’t be jealous of the travelers, every one can have access to the rooftop. With the hotel day pass, you can relax at the pool all day long.

Arnaud Montigny, an interior designer, was inspired by Tokyo for the decoration. It is pure and minimalist with only natural materials, like the wooden platform for beds. However, this hotel also has all the new technology. Each room has an ipad.

The Hotel Americano is urban and trendy. It is a celebration of contemporary art and, a nice place to enjoy Manhattan peacefully and relax!
